1Z2 C. sugar
11Z2 C. fresh orange juice.
1C. water
2 3-inch cinnamon sticks
3 large Granny Smith apples, peeled, halved
lengthwise and cored, thinly sliced
1 C. pitted prunes
1Z2 C. dried apricots
1 Tbsp. unsalted butter
In a heavy saucepan, add sugar, 1 C. orange juice, water and
cinnamon
sticks. Cook over low heat until sugar dissolves. Increase heat for
5
minutes while it turns syrupy. Add apples, prunes and apricots to
hot syrup.
Cook over medium heat until apples turn tender, about 10 minutes.
Cool, cover and store in the refrigerator overnight. Can be warmed
up over
low heat when ready to enjoy. |
