2 C. sugar
11Z4 sticks unsalted butter, room temperature
2 large eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
2 C. flour
2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
2 lbs. Golden Delicious apples, peeled, cored,
coarsely grated
1 C. walnuts, toasted and chopped
Preheat oven to 350° F. Prepare a rectangular metal baking pan. Beat
sugar,
butter, eggs and vanilla in a large bowl until smooth. Add flour,
cinnamon,
baking soda, baking powder and beat just until blended. Stir in
apples and
walnuts. Pour into baking pan.
Bake until top is light brown and tester comes out clean, about 60
minutes.
P.S. the person who gave me this recipe suggests eating this cake
with warm
caramel sauce. Sounds good to me! |
