6 C. approximately, mixed berries, rinsed well
¼ C. sugar
1 C. all purpose flour
1 Tbsp. fresh lemon juice
¾ C. old-fashioned oats
2/3 C. golden brown sugar
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
½ tsp. ground ginger
¼ tsp. ground nutmeg
7 Tbsp. chilled, unsalted butter, cut into pieces
Preheat oven to 375° F. Combine berries, ¼ C. sugar, ¼
C. flour and lemon juice in large bowl. Toss to blend
well. Put berry mixture in 9-inch diameter prepared
glass pie dish. Combine remaining ¾ C. flour, oats,
brown sugar and spices in medium bowl. Add butter and
rub entire mixture between fingers to create clumps.
Sprinkle this mixture over berries. Bake about 1 hour
until berry mixture bubbles thickly and topping is
golden brown. Serve warm or cold, either way it's
great.
