– COLTS Laboratories, a lens testing facility is celebrating their 10th anniversary September 1st .
COLTS Laboratories started 10 years ago in the ophthalmic field and COLTS has grown in ophthalmic and other areas since then. A few of our 1,500+ customers include: Boeing and NASA (we tested the 27 windows of the International Space Station), Rolex regularly tested their watch crystals, 3M, Kimberly-Clark, Ingersol Rand, Wal-Mart, US Army, Navy and Airforce, UL Laboratories, LensCrafters, Aqua Lung, PPG, Zeiss, Oakley, Sears Optical, Bayer Corp., Pentax, Nokia, Nikon, Motorola, Rockwell Scientific, GE, Costco, Corning, Bausch and Lomb, and over a dozen Universities, including MIT.
COLTS’ offers an FDA approved impact testing program designed to protect the surfacing lab and the edging dispenser. It is the only other impact program that has been approved by the FDA since the FDA began the program 30 years ago.
In 2003, COLTS began a program to certify surfacing laboratories that produce safety prescriptions with tests that they can’t complete on their own.
COLTS Laboratories now has customers in 33 countries, many of which have the COLTS Laboratories Performance Seal. This includes Spec Savers, the largest retail chain in the UK.
