Island, NY – Silhouette garnered a top honor for
its Blue Light / Advanced Macular Degeneration (AMD) Awareness
Campaign. The wellness initiative was named a finalist in
the competition for the Delta Awards honoring excellence in
medical marketing and bestowed by the Medical Marketing
Association (MMA). Silhouette was one of only eight companies
nationwide to receive such a distinction. The company was
commended for its “exceptional leadership in the development of
its innovative, impactful medical marketing program” and for its
“association with creativity and success in the medical
industry.” Silhouette’s Blue Light Awareness Campaign is a
multi-tiered initiative designed to aid eyecare practitioners in
educating their patients on the dangers of blue light.

First bestowed in 1998, the Delta Awards are one of the medical
marketing industry’s premier honors. Given out annually by the
Medical Marketing Association (MMA), the award recognizes positive
contributions to healthcare by showcasing marketing and education
programs that have spurred advances in patient care.
Silhouette’s Blue Light Awareness Campaign integrates seminars
and educational materials to help educate eyecare professionals
and their patients on the link between retinal damage and blue
light, along with the steps that can be taken to help prevent the
development of AMD. The company offers multi-tiered educational
seminars, live and in DVD format, that speaks to all levels of the
optical industry from doctor to practice manager to dispenser, and
is supported by materials aimed at patient education. A turnkey
patient education kit includes an informational video, posters,
lifestyle surveys, brochures with interactive counter card holder
and a take-home Amsler Grid.
